A Fire Protection Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will be provided mentoring opportunities working under our senior engineering leadership. The Designer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities and education markets.
Essential Functions:
Drafting of Fire Protection construction drawings including details, plans & sections
Assist with Fire Protection related calculations
Assist with design of Fire Protection systems
Assist with selection of Fire Protection equipment
Assisting with coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design
Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
Participate in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications
Research and assesses building performance and other regulations
Contribute to design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings
Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies
Coordinate and communicate with other team members.
Position Requirements:
Degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
Minimum of 2 years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office
