The New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority (NJSEA) is a state regulatory agency responsible for zoning and planning, as well as the oversight and management of a transportation planning district, within the 30.3-square-mile Hackensack Meadowlands District in northern New Jersey.

We are seeking highly motivated, experienced engineers to join the Transportation team.  Primary duties of the Transportation Engineer position include:

• Technical reviews of transportation/traffic plans and traffic impact studies;
• Transportation plans and projects including:
  • Traffic signal design, operation and maintenance;
  • Roadway/intersection design and inspection, and
  • Construction management and cost estimates.
• Transportation modeling and planning.

Starting salary will reflect education and experience.

Applicants must be able to work independently and possess strong verbal, written organizational and analytical skills. NJ residency is required (within one year of employment).

Qualifications required:  BSCE with minimum 2 to 5 years transportation experience, EIT certificate and AutoCAD proficiency.  Working knowledge of HCS, Synchro and MUTCD are a plus.

More advanced qualifications are highly preferred, including:  N.J.P.E. license; PTOE and IMSA Level 1 or higher; working knowledge of AASHTO and adaptive signal systems, and experience with grant writing.
