Overview
Gogo Business Aviation is looking for a Senior Quality Engineer- Continuous Improvement to join our dynamic team! This position is within the Quality and Compliance organization with a focus in continual improvement to ensure operational excellence is achieved throughout the business. The ideal candidate will have experience leading continuous improvement and lean within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
This role is an exciting opportunity and will allow the right candidate to define strategy while leading and managing continuous improvement (CI) projects within the requirements of the Gogo Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and FAA 14 CFR Part 21 and 145.

How will you make a difference?
Develop an Operational Excellence strategy, roadmap, process, and CI toolkit to support successful execution of company identified CI projects
Initiate CI projects and manage cross-functional teams through the lifecycle of the project utilizing the Six Sigma define, measure, analyze, improve, control (DMAIC) methodology, lean methodologies, or plan, do, check, act (PDCA) framework
Serve as a change agent and champion of a CI culture focused on waste elimination and creating standard work across the organization using tools such as, lean methods, 6S, Daily Management, standard work, value stream mapping, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Kaizen
Oversee the progress of multiple ongoing projects and manage the project schedule, budget, risks, opportunities, issues, and document lessons learned as required
Create and lead employee development training demonstrating knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma
Mentor and coach potential lean practitioners, and Six Sigma Yellow/Green belt candidates through their CI projects and workshops driving business change
Construct and monitor project Key Process Indicators (KPIs) and metrics and take necessary action for underperforming results
Build and present status reports of CI projects to senior leadership as required
Support internal and 3rd party audits of the Operational Excellence process and/or CI project records
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
7-10+ years of relevant continuous improvement and lean experience within an engineering and manufacturing environment
Six Sigma Green Belt certification required

Must be familiar with AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements
Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Up to 5% domestic and international travel required to Gogo’s customers, partners, and suppliers
Desired Skills, Talents, & Experience
Six Sigma Black Belt certification and Certified Lean Practitioner
Project management experience and PMP certification
Proficiency in Microsoft office, SharePoint, Oracle Agile PLM, and Navision ERP systems
