The Quality Manager is the Quality Management Representative and is responsible for managing all the quality functions of the Liberty, MO facility. The Quality Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all quality activities are carried out in compliance with company policy, quality procedures and any applicable outside certification standards, including ISO 9001, AS9100, ASME and applicable international standards. Provides hands-on leadership and management of team of 5.
What You'll Be Doing
Performs all essential responsibilities of the Quality Management System Representative includes writing, issuing and controlling the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Quality Control Instructions
Owner/leader of the site Corrective Action Board (CAB) process and the training, coaching and mentoring of root cause analysis
Coordinates and leads customer and third party audits
Actively reviews customer specifications and participates in production meetings to ensure on-time, quality delivery of products
Performs internal and supplier audits
Collects/reviews data, prepares reports and evaluates current performance to identify opportunities for improvement
Direct Quality staff and ensure that their essential functions are successfully carried out
Active leader in the Lean Daily Management Systems (LDMS)
Evaluate employee performance, both informally on a day-to-day basis, and as a part of the company performance management system
Ensure that employees follow company manufacturing and quality procedures, safety practices, and all company policies
Review non-conformance reports, RMA's, customer complaints and take actions as necessary to improve product and process quality
Prepare, maintain and manage the departmental budget
Prioritize tasks and motivate employees to accomplish departmental objectives
Perform the essential functions of direct reports, as needed, based on departmental workload
Participate in company hiring process to fill open positions in the department
Coordinate job training, both for new employees and to cross-train existing employees
What You Bring to the Table
Bachelor's degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering or related discipline; Six Sigma certification preferred
10 years' experience in progressively responsible QA or engineering positions, with at least 5 years management experience
Ability to read blueprints including basic GD&T
Willingness and ability to champion and enforce manufacturing and quality procedures, certification standards and company policies
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization (hourly, individual contributors, management, officers, and external constituents)
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
Tech savvy with ability to use advanced function in Microsoft Office, CRM and ERP system
