This Controls Product Quality Engineering business team position is responsible for developing and implementing product designs and systems that prevent quality related issues in Bendix and Sheppard products. Key responsibilities are leading the implementation of Advanced Quality processes in an Agile environment covering Electronic Hardware and Software product development for Vehicle electronics, Mechatronics, Collision avoidance, Steering Systems, ADAS/DAS; Autonomous and Highly Automated Driving vehicle technologies.
Essential Functions:
Lead teams in identifying potential risks and mitigation actions on hardware and software projects. Evaluate potential interactions with other products and systems.
Perform deep stress and noise factor risk analysis and processes to help identify possible product risks, failures and deploy adequate design solutions to prevent it.
Support the Product Development and Commercialization (PDC) Gate process and Advanced Product Safety Governance (APSG) protocol from feasibility to product launch in an Agile team environment.
Assure tools such as hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, and DFMEA are utilized to identify product safety risks and assure that design is robust enough to assure customer requirements are met. Manage risk registers, mitigation strategies, and follow up communication planning.
Help insure that all systems / products / parts and subassemblies function as intended over the required design life, by leading an analysis of reliability critical system elements and project managing corresponding mitigation actions.
Develop effective working relationships to gain matrix resources to support initiatives. Positively influence at all levels, inside and outside the organization. Clearly communicate project status, risks and scope creep to stakeholders on a regular basis.
Support assigned business unit as quality focal point for all assigned customers. Interface with customers and manufacturing plants to define customer quality requirements and monitor performance.
Support, as assigned, breakthrough Quality initiatives and participate on other special projects. Assist all functional areas and manufacturing locations with Advanced Quality Planning, problem resolution, prevention and mistake proofing.
For complex non-routine issues, provide leadership in developing and implementing corrective actions. and special project teams.
Willing to travel domestically and globally up to 15%. Strong English communication skills are required.
Knowledge:
Candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in hardware, electronics, and software design, as well as leading Quality Assurance team meetings utilizing DFMEA methodologies, moderating risk assessment and ensuring that the correct methodologies are used.
Ability to lead and motivate multi-faceted teams, with the personal leadership to influence and positively motivate self and peers. Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute with speed.
The ideal candidate will possess engineering level knowledge and understanding of the key technical characteristics of the broad range of design and manufacturing processes. These include a technical understanding of ADAS DAS Systems, Steering, and Brake control Mechatronic hardware, software and Systems, as well as electronic circuit analysis and product component designs utilized in Electronic Control Units.

Experience:
Engineer 2: 3+ years of experience in an Electrical engineering environment in lieu of Graduate degree in Electrical or Software Engineering.
Engineer 3: 5+ years of experience in an Electrical engineering environment in lieu of Graduate degree in Electrical or Software Engineering.
1+ years’ experience in Commercial vehicle, Automotive hardware and software Product, Quality and Product development functions for Electronic hardware manufacturing and assembly.
2+ Years’ experience in manufacturing process development and commercialization of new products strongly desired.
1 + years' experience in Agile methodologies, project management and PM tools (Miro, Teams, Microsoft Project, Stage Gate, etc.). Project Management Professional Certified (PMP) strongly desired.
ISO 9001 TS16949 and understanding of software development techniques and methodologies (ISO26262, ASPICE, SEI CMM)
Education:
Minimum of a bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with applicable electronic engineering experience. Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering in lieu of 3+ years engineering experience.
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB), Toyota Production System (TPS), AIAG Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and ASPICE certification all a plus for the position.
