GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs, and implements comprehensive strategies for managing the District's engineering activities and Capital Improvement Programs; performs high-level complex engineering work on project planning, design, and construction; plans, organizes, directs, and reviews the work of professional and technical staff; manages the work of consultants; and performs related duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE - Ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience in an engineering design and construction program, preferably in a public utility environment, three (3) of which should be in a program-management capacity, or three (3) years of experience as a Senior Civil Engineer with the District. In addition to the program management experience, strong wastewater process knowledge is highly desirable.
EDUCATION - Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or directly related engineering field, such as mechanical or chemical engineering.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS - A valid certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of California; and a valid California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy.
