Job Description:
KAEKO is seeking a Civil Engineer who is registered as a Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Arizona with three or more years of experience in Civil Engineering Design and/or Project Management. Candidate needs to be able to move forward on multiple projects concurrently and work closely with team members on the design and permitting efforts for those projects.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
The Civil Engineer position provides professional guidance, leadership and training to other personnel. Is responsible for planning and coordinating new projects related to land development for site and commercial projects. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies
Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines
Coordination with Cad Techs and other design team members.
Potential responsibility for full design for smaller/simpler projects or perform task oriented design of more complex projects
Research and conform to applicable city/agency design guidelines, codes and checklists
Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints.
Site/Commercial Designers will coordinate with other consultants on a design team
Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis
Prepare drainage calculations
Assist with preparation of feasibility studies
Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design
Perform various other design tasks under the direction others.
Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specification for mechanical discipline area.
Provide real time advice and decisions, technical in nature and cost estimates as needed to the project managers.
Review and direct revisions to design packages as required.
MUST have attention to detail.
Takes pride in work and takes initiative to expand knowledge base.
Review as-builds, submittals and redlines.
Coordinate with all disciplines involved (Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural), including outside consultants and contractors.
Technical interface with code officials and contractors and customers.
Ability to use the latest version of Revit and/or AutoCAD to prepare design drawings with plans and details as designated by the engineering team.
Must be able to work well in a team environment.
Participate in meetings with Customers, and Owners to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas.
Problem solving and critical-thinking skills when designing/developing engineered drawings.
Coordinate changes and gather information from various resources to enable correct information flow.
Minimum Requirements:
Licensed Civil Engineer in Arizona.
Experience in land development or site/commercial preferred.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required; 5+ years preferred with progressive technical experience.
Technical input for multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite is required, and a high adaptability to learning new software and technology.
Possess fundamental understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans.
Strong understanding of construction plan preparation and details.
Possess advanced knowledge of design standards, principles and practices.
Professionally perform multiple, detailed-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
Ability to work both individually and with a team, give and take direction and go beyond your job description when needed.
Solid writing and organization skills.
Possess strong work ethic, integrity and loyalty.
Team player with the ability to work well under pressure.
Understanding the importance of excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to work in a clean room environment.
