The Center for Watershed Protection is a national 501(c) nonprofit organization that works with communities to provide clean water and healthy natural resources. For nearly 30 years, the organization has provided direct services and training to communities, conducted applied research, and developed a growing membership program. The Center is seeking to fill a newly created position—the Stormwater & Watershed Training Manager. The ideal candidate for this position would be a critical and strategic thinker with technical knowledge of stormwater management and outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The Training Manager is expected to have top-notch organizational and time management skills. You must be able to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment while providing high level client service. The ability to speak comfortably to various audiences is essential. The Training Manager would be involved in the ANSI Accredited Clean Water Certificate (CWC) Training Program and professional training the Center provides. CWC Training Program for workforce development provides high quality training opportunities that promotes job growth in the stormwater industry and delivers industry specific, job-readiness skills and knowledge. The goals of the CWC training program are to: - Provide the stormwater industry access to an “on the job ready” workforce,
- Expand the skilled stormwater industry workforce to help meet the demand for stormwater installation and maintenance, and
- Increased opportunity for individuals in low-income communities, under or unemployed individuals to secure a living wage job leading to financial stability
Candidates will be innovative, work well in teams, and be adaptable to change. Most importantly, this candidate will possess a positive attitude, work to evolve CWP training into an industry leading program, and be willing to take on tasks in support of projects, teams, and the organization. Stormwater & Watershed Training Manager - Three years of experience in the stormwater industry and in training/ education
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in an environmental field (education, natural resources management, etc.)
- Ability to work in remotely and for an extensive time at a desk using computers and other equipment; ability to access internet, preferably high speed
- Experience using Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams
The following list are expected preliminary duties for this position - Develop training program logistics
- Develop, document, and maintain standard system of work documents, SOPs, and training aids
- Coordinate with partners and potential clients
- Coordinate schedule with trainers and partners
- Work with team to maintain ANSI certification
- Deliver training courses
- Continuously improve the training program
- Develop and track measures of success for the program in concert with the Training team
- Maintain certificates
- Review feedback from trainers, participants, partners, other involved parties
- Process trainer applications and provide materials for trainers/WFD
- Evaluate trainer performance
- Lead, teach and onboard new trainers
- Manage production of program marketing material with Marketing team
- Research and create new training methods, including e-learning
- Produce new training material (curriculum, handouts, power points, activities, etc.) for a variety of courses related to stormwater and watershed management
