The Department of Business Analytics within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites applications for one or more non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position(s) in Business Analytics at the level of Lecturer, Associate Professor of Practice or Instruction, or Full Professor of Practice or Instruction, starting August 18, 2021. Rank will be based on experience and record of achievement. Position(s) may range from 50% time (teaching 4 classes/year) to 100% time (teaching 8 classes/year) and include a 1-7 year contract with benefits. Education Requirement: A Master’s degree in a related field. A PhD and/or extensive industry experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications: Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in any area of Business Analytics or strong background in Business Analytics with industry experience (5-10 years) Desired Qualifications For one of the positions, we particularly seek candidates who are prepared to teach information visualization. Experience also in text analytics and database management is preferred. A history of publishing in academic journals or conference proceedings in information visualization is desired.
For any additional positions, we seek candidates who are prepared to teach in other areas of business analytics. Experience in programming in Python, text analytics, supply chain analytics, operations management, and/or big data management and analytics is preferred.
