Additional Roles and Responsibilities
Providers leadership, guidance and coordination of Engineering Division within Public Works, assuring that objectives and standards meet City goals and directs the coordination with Federal, State and regional organizations.
Evaluates City's needs and capital improvement plans and prioritizes operational and strategic plans and resource requirements. Defines required results, develops solutions, determine scope and priorities of programs and projects.
Directs the Engineering Division's projects, assuring that project deliverables meet cost and quality requirements. Reviews and approves contracts and plan specifications, reviews technical and analytical reports, makes technical estimates regarding Engineering Division projects, contracts and regulatory issues.
Develops and reviews engineering design, criteria and project delivery for Capitol Improvement Projects (CIP), CIP tracking systems including project scopes, budgets, schedules and expenditures with variance explanations.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field and seven years of professional civil engineering experience, including project and program management and supervisory experience.
Master's Degree preferred.
Public sector work experience preferred.
Experience in Development and implementation of an Asset Management Program
Valid Washington State driver's license
Registration as Professional Engineer with the State of Washington required (Or registration in another state, with the ability to obtain Washington state registration within 6 months of hire)
