The Town of Lexington is accepting applications for the position of Civil Engineer II/ Project Engineer in the Administration Department.
The Town of Lexington Administrative Department seeks an experienced Civil Engineer II/ Project Engineer to assist with design engineering and project administration for multi-faceted and complex federal, state & locally-funded projects. Candidate will perform detailed design, survey, signal programming and construction inspection for major & minor projects including: roadways, traffic signals, drainage and park facilities.
Major responsibilities include: Plan review & preparation of budget, estimates; consultant oversight; monitor/preparation of contract documents and plans; and managing projects through design, right-of-way & procurement and construction phases. Work load will be supplemented by aiding the Water and Sewer Department with design and construction inspection and coordination with other utilities as projects require. Position requires an in-depth knowledge & experience in multiple aspects of civil engineering design, project management, construction administration, and public presentation. Experience in signalization systems or ability and interest to obtain is preferred. Must possess strong communication, leadership, management, organizational & problem-solving skills. Ability to utilize AutoCAD and /or MicroStation design elements is preferred.

Minimum requirements: BS in Civil Engineering, three years of experience in project management and/or design and construction of civil related projects, valid SC Drivers License after 30 days from time of Hire.
