Assistant Professor – Plant Physiologist (Tenure Track)

The Department of Biological Sciences at Louisiana State University invites applications for a tenure-track Plant Physiologist at the level of Assistant Professor. The position is open to all areas of plant physiology including cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, genetics, environmental biology, and algal physiology. The Department of Biological Sciences currently consists of 60 tenure-track faculty members studying a wide range of biological questions at scales from molecules to ecosystems. The successful candidate will complement these strengths, and will be expected to maintain a vigorous, extramurally funded research program, and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
50% - Develop and maintain an independent and vigorous research program in the area of plant physiology
50% - Teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in a biological sciences discipline, including a course in plant physiology, and direct/supervise graduate students.
Ph.D. in plant physiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field; Successful track record of independent research.
Postdoctoral experience or its equivalent preferred.
