GENERAL PURPOSE: Performs complex professional engineering work in the research, planning, design and construction of waterworks capital and/or maintenance projects; coordinates the work of professional and technical staff; and performs related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform water distribution system master planning and analysis; evaluate existing water system facilities in terms of operational performance; perform evaluations of new development in terms of water system capacity, water quality, and system expansion; evaluate and resolve operational issues pertaining to water quality, facility outages, system capacity, and pressure; and perform research to support future plans including addressing water quality and asset management concerns.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in civil engineering; and three years of responsible professional civil engineering experience, preferably in a water utility; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires a valid Nevada driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy and a Civil Engineer P.E.: Certificate of registration as a Professional Engineer issued by the State of Nevada.
