Structural Engineer Intern - The Structural Engineer Intern will be assigned to work in our New Orleans, LA office with a project team and assist project engineers in producing high quality construction documents. This will be a full-time position.
Candidates should be prepared to:
Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and design of medical facilities, schools, industrial buildings, warehouses, churches, governmental complexes, office buildings, and other various types of structures.
Assist in the review of structural design drawings and vendor shop drawings.
Perform computations and analysis using three dimensional analytical modeling software.
Produce construction documents.
Perform on-site construction observations, as directed.
The ideal candidate:
Is a recent graduate student with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in structural engineering or has completed a Master’s Degree within the past three (3) years or is planning to graduate with a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering in December 2017.
May be given consideration if they have obtained an undergraduate degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering minor, and have work experience of at least two years in structural engineering of commercial buildings.
Must have taken and passed the FE Exam.
Must be self-motivated.
Has experience with computer aided drafting (preferred).
