Leverage your expertise in railway maintenance, measurement and analysis and your business savvy to at Harsco Rail. As Director – Measurement and Analysis, you will provide technical, marketing and business leadership to Harsco Rail’s Engineering Measurement and Analysis business line. You’ll serve as subject matter expert to both internal and external customers regarding measurement systems; track and track component behavior modeling; planning and analysis models; and the measurement and analysis of failure and degradation of track and track components.
You will plan, communicate and execute strategies to achieve product line P&L objectives and you’ll serve as the key link between the customer and internal commercial and operational teams. In this role, you will be responsible for innovation revenue and demand creation. This includes:
Develop a strategic plan, both short/long term, including financial summaries of product line
Develop quantified value proposition for product line with effective pricing strategy
Create proposals, financial justifications, master specifications and business cases to obtain approval for development and enhancements of product lines
Guide, mentor and develop staff of engineers and analysts
Own business and market requirement documents
Champion the Harsco innovation process for measurement and analysis product lines
Develop the roadmap for product line and drive continuous improvement activities
Lead Sales and Operations Planning for product line
Price, package, and launch products
Develop and execute plans to manage optimized product portfolio including succession plans for discontinued products
Develop pricing strategy for products
Maintain and apply market, competitive, and industry data for a product line using standard competitive framework
Lead product training and quotation guidance with sales team
Ensure proper product positioning and placement within the Harsco Rail product portfolio
Develop strategy for key marketing materials including presentations, and literature to support the Sales teams.
You must be willing and able to travel by commercial airline and automobile, but domestically and internationally, approximately 30% of the time.
You may work for our offices in Charlotte, NC, Cherry Hill, NJ or Columbia, SC.
Our qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in railway, civil, or mechanical engineering or physics with 10+ years of experience in railway maintenance, measurement, and must have experience in a supervisory role.
Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Engineer, Physics or Business (MBA), 7+ years’ experience management an engineer-based product line, risk management experience, and Lean or Six Sigma experience.
