As a Senior Engineer, you will be guiding our team to create sustainable multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from complex roadways and streetscapes in highly urban settings, to signature trail projects that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You will assist the Regional Engineering Director by independently managing company projects in the New England region inclusive of all stages of project development and client relations. You’ll also be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, delivering projects from concept to construction; including stakeholder outreach, developing feasibility studies and concept plans, and preparing construction documents for innovative projects throughout the country. In an industry that is constantly changing, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering creative solutions to challenging projects.

A Professional Engineering license
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil/transportation engineering
At least 10 years of engineering experience
At least 2 years serving in a project and/or staff management role
A broad knowledge base in civil engineering (transportation focus)
Specific knowledge of roadway geometric design
Interest in multimodal and active transportation design
Proficiency in Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD) and design software (Civil 3D)
Experience developing construction documents and cost estimates
Signal design experience is advantageous
Experience managing engineering projects in New England is desirable

The Boston office of Toole Design Group is conveniently located just outside of Post Office Square in downtown Boston, blocks from multiple MBTA subway lines and walking distance from both North and South Stations. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit. Our team is a dynamic mix of planners, engineers, landscape architects and administrative professionals.
