This position is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and highly skilled ITS/Traffic professional who wishes to be part of our expanding team. The successful candidate will play a key role on a major design-build project in central Denver, provide ITS and Traffic Engineering and planning services for Muller’s Traffic/ITS On-Call contract with CDOT, and serve on numerous other leading-edge technology projects in the Rocky Mountain region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Planning and design of transportation technology infrastructure
Prepare studies, reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation technology projects, including smart mobility infrastructure
Take ownership of projects from start to finish
Perform field observation work when necessary, under minimal supervision
Interact with clients and serve as a technical lead in multi-disciplinary environments
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university
6 to 12 years of experience in transportation technology planning and design
Knowledge and experience with MicroStation, and other software common to the field of transportation technology engineering
Experience with Colorado DOT, or other state DOT and local agency plan preparation procedures
Strong desire to apply emerging technologies to solve transportation challenges
Traffic engineering and traffic operations experience
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills
A desire to grow personally and professionally with each project while working in a team environment to create designs and drawings supporting our clients’ overall project goals
Colorado Professional Engineer license or ability to transfer a license from another state
